Art Club

Fall 2011

Dear Parent/ Guardian,

        After being requested by several junior high students to establish an after school art club, today, I am seeking potential 8^th grade members. I understand that students are involved in numerous activities these days; however, students who have a strong interest in the arts are sometimes left out. It is my belief that a student who possesses such artistic talent could ultimately benefit from the nurturing of this talent in the form of an art club.

       Some of the potential projects that I had in mind are: murals, sculptures, and assisting stage hands such as Drama Club and the Spring Concert. The list of activities could also include more advanced drawing/ painting skills and ceramics.  

        So that students can benefit the most from this creative environment, I want to keep the membership to a minimum. I am inviting up to 10-12, highly talented (8^th grade) students to enroll in the Fall 2011 art club. With the limited availability of potential members, enrolling as soon as possible is strongly advised.

        I am hoping to have the art club meetings on ________ from 3:35- 4:15. With your help, students are expected to have some type of pick-up arrangement established before enrolling in the art club. If a child is allowed to walk home, I would greatly appreciate it if you notify me by signing the “my child has permission to walk home after art club” so that I can make sure that students are heading home safely after art club in accordance to your request.

    Students who fail to fill out the appropriate spaces, on the permission slip, will delay the enrollment process and /or remove a potential name from the list to make way for other interested students.
