As we studied the word ancestor and its meaning in social studies, the children and their families learned about their own ancestors.  The students, with their parents' help, wrote a report about their grandparents and then read the report to the class.

By doing this project the children learned about their history, had some quality time working with their families, improved their writing skills, and had the opportunity to shine in front of the class as they shared their reports.
