Hi! My name is Wendy Bunnell! I am a kindergarten teacher at Hawthorn Elementary School in Salem, Illinois.  I love teaching and I love my kindergarten kids! 

I am beginning my 9th year of teaching and my sixth year as a kindergarten teacher.  It is hard to believe that my first year kindergarten students are entering 6th grade this year! Boy am I feeling old!

I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Education from University of Illinois in Springfield in 1995 and completed my Master of Education Degree this June.

My husband John and I have been married for 10 years. We have three adorable children.  Adam, who is in Kindergarten~ Emma, who is four~ and Ellie who just turned 1!

I feel kindergarten is one of the most important milestones in a child’s life!  I understand that parents and children meet this time with excitement or apprehension (or a little of both).  I want my students to have a fun, exciting, and successful year in Kindergarten and I LOVE helping them reach their full potential!  

When I am not teaching or spending time with my family, I love to read!  I also enjoy exercising and shopping!
